Current Jelly

On the weekend I made up my current jelly and raspberry jam.  I always pick the berries in the summer and freeze them – who wants to slave over a hot stove in the summer?   In November it brings the smells and sights of summer back in the house.   Everyone who sees me over Christmas gets a pretty red jar – whether they want it or not!    The trick to clear jelly is to let the juice drip through slowly – don’t force it by squashing the berries – it takes most of the day, but the result is lovely!
